2 Days Tarangire & Ngorongoro Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Tarangire: The Open Plains

Arusha / Moshi → Tarangire National Park → Karatu

The day begins with a morning drive to Tarangire National Park. As the landscape opens, giant baobab trees and wide savannah set the tone. Elephants move slowly across the plains, often in large family groups.

Game viewing is unhurried. You stay long enough to understand the park, not just pass through it.

In the late afternoon, you leave Tarangire and drive to Karatu Town, a quiet highland area near Ngorongoro.

Overnight: Karatu
Game drive time: 4–5 hours

Karatu → Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha / Moshi

After an early breakfast, you descend into Ngorongoro Crater. The change is immediate — wildlife appears quickly and in high numbers. Lions, buffalo, zebra, hippos, and often black rhino live within this natural enclosure.

You enjoy a morning game drive, followed by a picnic lunch near the hippo pool.

In the early afternoon, you begin the return journey to Arusha or Moshi.
